PROBLEMS THAT MAY
REQUIRE AN ELECTRICIAN
Our team is ready to serve and excited for the opportunity to service our SW Florida residents & businesses with the best electrical expertise and customer service!
HOT METAL OR PLASTIC MELTING SMELLS
Often times, customers will describe what they smell as an “odd hot plastic” type smell. If you smell any type of burning plastic or hot metal smell, turn off any breakers where the smell is radiating from, call 911 to have the fire department check for an electrical fire. Do not use any electrical components until the problem has been resolved.
BREAKERS THAT CONTINUALLY TRIP
If you have a breaker that trips repeatedly, this can be caused by an array of things, most of which can be fixed with a simple repair, but some can be dangerous. A breaker is an overcurrent device, it tripping means that it is doing its job and protecting the circuit. If you have a breaker tripping, it is best to call a licensed and insured electrician to troubleshoot and repair the challenge.
ELECTRICAL SMOKE OR SPARKS
If you notice at any point sparks coming from a receptacle or any other electrical component, discontinue use, turn off breaker, and call 911 to make sure there is not an electrical fire. Once cleared, call an emergency electrician for repair.
PARTIAL HOME POWER LOSS
Often times, homeowners will lose power to partial, or even half of their house, and they decide not to call anyone because they say “it started to work again.” Intermittent issues can often times mean there is a more serious issue. Call a licensed and insured electrician.
HOT DEVICES, CORDS, OR OTHER DEVICES
Electrical components are designed to manage heat. In fact, the National Electrical Code that electricians go by is also called the NFPA 70. NFPA stands for “National Fire Protection Association.” Electrical equipment is designed to manage heat. If you feel that electrical components are hot to the touch, this means there is a problem. The circuit should be shut off, and not used until it is repaired.
BUZZING OR STRANGE ELECTRICAL NOISES
Often times, many of our customers hear a “buzzing” noise coming from electrical equipment and/or components. If you hear buzzing coming from electrical components, call an emergency electrician today. A buzzing noise probably means something is loose. When electrical components are loose, this causes resistance in the circuit. Where you find resistance, you will find heat!
WATER DAMAGE
If you have experienced a flood or other water damage, it is best to call an emergency electrician to evaluate the problem and turn off power to areas that may have been affected.
BURNED ELECTRICAL DEVICES
If there is a dark brown or dark-colored burn mark on a receptacle or other electrical component, this means there is a problem. Discontinue use, turn off breaker, and call an emergency electrician for service.
